Basic Course ELISA - Course E14
Enzyme Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay (ELISA) is one of the most important techniques in protein analysis. This basic course introduces you to the utilization of ELISA technology in theory and practice, whereby particular emphasis is placed on the conducting of the experiments and biochemical as well as immunological aspects. Methods for the avoidance and correction of typical problems are also outlined.
The course focuses mainly on:
- Introduction to techniques and variants of ELISA
- Substantiation process (competitive/non-competitive)
- Antibody selection and optimization
- Obtaining and preparing samples
- Assay matrices/coating of plastic articles
- Detection methods
- Evaluation of ELISA experiments
- Analysis and correction of errors
No specific previous knowledge is required for this introductory course, but basic knowledge of the typical techniques of an analytical-biological laboratory is recommended.
