Basic Course Proteins - Course E13
This course is designed as a compact introduction to the methods of protein diagnostics in order to facilitate your initial involvement with protein-based experiments.
Starting off with an in-depth introduction to the structure and tasks of proteins, you then get to know the most important methods of protein diagnostics. The course focuses mainly on:
- Enzyme tests
- Protein quantification
- ELISA
- Western blot
- Proteome analysis using 2D-PAGE and MALDI-TOF
- Protein structure analysis by means of x-ray crystallography
The course also includes an introduction to the possibilities for manufacturing recombinant proteins and protein design.
This course requires basic knowledge of molecular biology.
Duration: 2 days (9:30am - 5:00pm)
