Advanced Course Gene Transfer - Course E12

This course shows you how you can introduce genetic material to in-vitro cultivated cells with the help of various transfection and transduction techniques. The following main topics are dealt with in theory and practice:

The cell biological background of gene transfer is discussed in a theoretical introduction. Gene transfer applications are explained in scientific experiments along with strategies to optimize test parameters. Particular emphasis is placed here on the comparative discussion of various methods and their areas of practical application, as well as measures to control the quality of the experiment stages and avoid typical errors and/or solve frequently occurring problems in the conducting of transfection experiments. In the practical experiments, you then develop the skills required for successful implementation. In addition to this, safety aspects and the outline legal conditions for working with genetically altered material are discussed.

This course requires basic knowledge of molecular biology and cell culture technology.

Duration: 2 days (9:30am - 5:00pm)

Participation fee € 585,-- (plus VAT) incl. work materials, course documentation, confirmation of participation, snacks and beverages.
