Advanced Course Primary Cell Culture - Course E11
This intensive course on primary cell culture shows you how to successfully cultivate non-immortalized cells obtained from tissues.
To do so, we present the routine processes required for cultivation and show you how to avoid frequently committed errors at critical control points and purposefully solve typical problems, in order to use the primary cell culture under the ideal conditions. In addition to this, you also learn the most important techniques for isolating the primary cells from tissues, along with methods for characterizing the cells obtained in this manner.
The course focuses mainly on:
- Specific requirements of primary cell culture
- Optimization of routine primary cell processes
- Prevention, diagnosis and elimination of contamination
- Obtaining primary cells by means of explantation and enzymatic isolation
- Characterization of primary cells
- Subcultivation and cryoconservation
- Catalogue of measures to solve and avoid typical problems and sources of error in everyday laboratory practice.
The course is intended to enable you to professionally establish a primary cell culture using sound specialized knowledge, select the most favourable technique in each instance and adapt it to your applications, even in difficult outline conditions, and purposefully find the right solution approach to any problems which may occur.
Basic knowledge of cell culture is recommended for this intensive course.
