Basic Course Cell Culture - Course E08
This basic course provides you with sound basic knowledge for safe and successful work in a cell culture lab.
In addition to the biological fundamentals of cell cultivation, the course communicates the essential culture techniques and provides an introduction to sterile work processes. In doing so, the critical control points of laboratory organization and conducting of experiments are marked out and strategies prepared for the efficient and reproducible cultivation of various cell types.
The course focuses mainly on:
- Introduction to the techniques of cell cultivation
- Laboratory equipment and organization in the sterile area
- Sterile working at the safety workbench
- Sterilization, disinfection and cleaning methods
- Standard methods of adherent cell culture and suspension cell culture
- Cell culture media and supplements
- Microscopy in cell culture
- Vitality test
- Passaging cells
- Cryoconservation
- Prevention, diagnosis and elimination of contamination
- Quality control in cell culture
- Information procurement and documentation
The course is intended to enable you to successfully conduct your own cell culture experiments and deal safely and professionally with the critical points of cell culture.
No special previous knowledge is required for this course.
