Advanced Course DNA - Course E04
This intensive course communicates the various techniques for the isolation, modification and analysis of genomic and non-genomic DNA from different biological materials, such as tissue or eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells.
In doing so - in addition to the commonly used, established basic techniques - particular attention is paid to alternative methods and special techniques for specific applications (such as time-optimized or high-throughput applications) and a widely ranging catalogue of measures for solving problems in everyday laboratory situations.
On top of this, the course also shows how sufficient DNA for analysis can be obtained from extremely small sample quantities or difficult sample material and how DNA can be conserved for long-term storage in the ideal manner.
The course focuses mainly on:
- Techniques for DNA isolation
- DNA purification and modification
- Techniques for qualitative and quantitative DNA analysis
- DNA conservation
This advanced course requires basic knowledge of the structure and properties of nucleic acids.
